Composite Carbon

EnergyLab uses a four layer process in building its rims using an impregnated carbon layup, which was shown to be best for preventing cracking over long term use and sudden impacts. By doing a series of four thin layers we are able to increase the strength, stiffness, impact absorption and ride comfort.

The wheels are seamed at a 40 degrees during layup for stiffness and decreasing material waste.

Energy Lab applies these proven craftsman skills to each rim we make.

EnergyLabs carbon is laid in a way to ensure balance and strength.

Carbon is specifically placed in areas to support the spokes, tire bead and bridging ensuring they are built to be ridden.
